About Lee Straus, Esq.
Lee Straus is a mediator and conflict resolution specialist with over 30 years of experience as a business and legal affairs executive at leading entertainment companies, including The Walt Disney Company, NBCUniversal, and The North Road Company. Throughout his career, he has negotiated complex, high-stakes deals and advised on issues where legal, business, and creative interests intersect.
That background gives Lee a practical, real-world understanding of how disputes arise — and how they get resolved.
In addition to his work in the entertainment industry, Lee has served for more than two decades as a neutral, hearing and deciding hundreds of attorney-client fee disputes. He is currently Deputy Chair of the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Attorney-Client Mediation and Arbitration Services Program (ACMAS) and serves as an Assistant Presiding Arbitrator for the State Bar of California’s Mandatory Fee Arbitration Program. Lee has also completed formal mediation training through the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution, including Mediating the Litigated Case and the advanced Mediating the Litigated Case 2.0, further strengthening the thoughtful, flexible, and practical approach he brings to each mediation.
Lee’s mediation style is direct, efficient, and solution-oriented. He quickly identifies the key issues, cuts through posturing, and helps parties focus on risk, exposure, and realistic outcomes — while ensuring each side feels heard and respected.
As a mediator for the Los Angeles Superior Court’s Mediation Volunteer Panel, Resolve Law LA, the Center for Conflict Resolution and ACMAS, Lee has mediated a wide range of matters, including personal injury, employment related disputes, attorney-client fee disputes, unlawful detainer actions, and entertainment-related conflicts.
